High schools compete to gather canned food for a good cause

Skyline High School held their 11th annual Souper Bowl food drive assembly on Thursday.

The drive started at the beginning of January, canned goods along with money donations will be collected until the end of January.

Thee high schools are competing in the Souper Bowl, Skyline High, Idaho Falls and Campus high school.

The winning high school will receive a trophy which Skyline High School won last year.

“We want to keep the trophy here at our school,” said Janea Ray, a senior at Skyline High School.

All the donations collected during the competition will be delivered to the Idaho Falls Food Pantry and the Community Food Basket.

“We want to show our support to the community and help in any way possible,” said Ray.

Local grocery stores such as; Albertsons, Broulims and Walmart will be collecting canned foods and money donations.
