Some don’t mind the cold while others do
Due to severe winter conditions, the city of Idaho Falls has a snow proclamation in place.
The order makes it mandatory for all city residents and businesses to move vehicles off the streets during designated times.
Most of roadways were empty Sunday, except for snowplows that were busy clearing rural areas.
Casey Davenport’s husband plows business parking lots. Davenport, who goes along with him to help shovel the entrances of the businesses, said the snow sucks.
“I’m ready for it to be over,” said Davenport.
However, she tries to look on the bright side of shoveling snow.
“Its a good workout, though. That’s a plus,” said Davenport.
With winter enforcement rules in place, it made it easier for snow plows to get around.
Paula Ochoa, owner of Paula’s Meat Market and Mexican restaurant said most of her customers park on the streets so it made it harder for them to park.
She and her husband, who spent most of the day shoveling snow, decided to get a little creative and build a snow dome.
“It’s a castle. People seem to like it,” said Ochoa.”Come eat, shop and take a free photo in front of our creation.”
They sculpted a 12 foot snow dome out of the snow they shoveled.
It sits next to their business in their parking lot.
“I love snow and taking pictures for memories,” said Ochoa.
