Woman pulls gun during Idaho Falls funeral

Idaho Falls police arrested 52-year-old Kimberly A. Dodge after she brandished a gun and threatened numerous people during her estranged husband’s funeral Wednesday.

Dodge was arrested without further incident. No one else was injured.

Police responded to a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel at 2055 Coronado Street at 12:43 p.m. They received information that Dodge had a handgun and was threatening an LDS bishop and others.

Witnesses said Dodge got up and began saying strange and inappropriate things. When she was advised to refrain from saying certain things, Dodge pulled out a gun.

People attending the funeral left the chapel while the bishop and others stayed and attempted to calm Dodge down and to put her gun down.

Idaho Falls Police and the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded. Dodge was arrested for aggravated assault.

The funeral reconvened and officers stood by until the services ended.
