Museum of Idaho sues former employee for embezzlement
The Museum of Idaho is suing a former employee for embezzlement.
Court documents say Amanda Gunderson took more than 82-thousand dollars from the museum.
Gunderson was the former business manager for the museum. She was laid off in July 2013, they said.
An audit done for the museum last year discovered the missing cash.
The suit says Gunderson took the money from the front desk cash register used for admission and the gift store.
The suit said she also falsified the revenue entries on accounting software.
Museum director David Pennock said the money was taken between 2012 and 2013.
He said none of the money was from donors or grants to the museum.
No criminal charges have been filed against Gunderson.
