Boise man arrested for returning stolen items for cash

Idaho Falls Police arrested 37-year-old Scott J. Clifford on a warrant for burglary resulting from a return fraud case reported in early January.

Clifford of Boise was served the warrant on Tuesday at the Bonneville County Jail.

According to reports, officers responded to Walmart, 500 S. Utah Ave., on Jan. 10 for a report of a theft.

Clifford, along with 33-year-old Darlin Leeseberg of Garden City, took a receipt found in the trash and used it to fraudulently return an item stolen from the store shelf.

Leseberg was previously arrested on Jan. 10.
