Students make Valentines for Vets
Hibbard Elementary School students were excited today to make Valentines Cards for Veterans.
It’s the idea of Deidre Mason, who recalls years ago when she was a little girl responding to an Ann Landers article urging that veterans be recognized on Valentines Day.
She has a friend at Hibbard Elementary and got the school involved. Mason says last year when she delivered the cards to the veterans clinic in Pocatello, the veterans were so touched there was not a dry eye.
Students had been learning about veterans and the various branches of the military and were excited to make the cards again this year.
