Skiers injured after fall from cliff near Jackson resort
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort officials say three skiers from California are recovering from minor to serious injuries after falling from a cliff just outside the southern resort boundary.
The Jackson Hole News and Guide reports that the Jackson Hole Ski Patrol received a report Monday morning that three skiers had fallen about 60 feet over cliffs and rocks in the Rock Springs backcountry area.
According to a press release, five skiers from California had exited the resort through the backcountry gate just above the cliff. Two of the skiers continued down without incident, while three others ended up falling from the steep, icy cliff.
Emergency crews responded and transported the three skiers to a hospital.
