Tennessee man arrested for battery with intent to commit murder

Bingham County Prosecutor Cleve Colson announced today that Lane Edward Carroll, a 46-year-old of Knoxville, Tennessee, is being charged on one count of battery with intent to commit a violent felony.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on February 14, 2016 in Blackfoot. According to court documents Lane attempted to grab Kelly Carroll from behind and then break Kelly’s neck. The documents allege that Lane Carrolll intended to kill Kelly.

The case is being investigated by Bingham County Sheriff’s Office and the Blackfoot Police.

Carroll faces up to twenty years in prison and/or a fine of $50,000 on this charge.
