Woman arrested for aggravated battery of a child

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 24-year-old Lorena Ocampo-Garcia on a warrant for aggravated battery stemming from an ongoing investigation where a 3 year old boy was injured.

According to the Bonneville County Sheriff’s office the investigation began on February 23 when the 3 year old boy was taken to Easter Idaho Regional Medical Center with a severe head injury. Medical staff were suspicious of how the injury occurred and contacted the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office investigated and discovered that Ocampo-Garcia, a girl friend of the boy’s father, was watching the boy when the injury occurred.

Ocampo-Garcia was found in Madison County and the Madison County Sheriff’s office assisted with the arrest. She is currently being held at the Bonneville County Jail with a $100,000 bond.
