Business development on the rise in Chubbuck

More businesses are on the rise in Pocatello, which means more construction popping up around town. Bringing in options and more revenue for the city.

One of the businesses coming about is Hobby Lobby. Construction is still underway for the building, but workers there really emphasized on the size of the place.

Zen Stewart says he isn’t too familiar with the upcoming store, but is interested in checking it out anyway once it’s complete.

“I’m really looking forward to a Target being built here. I think that would do very well. Wal Mart is great and has good prices, but just not the same as Target,” said Stewart.

He’s also hoping for a CiCi’s Pizza, which just like Target, hasn’t been in announced from the City of Pocatello. Until it is, Stewart says they will both do well here.

But with new, exciting businesses popping up this year, District Engineer of Idaho Transportation Department (ITD), Ed Bala says drivers need to slow down as they see those incoming road construction signs.

“I always say drive according to the conditions outside. If it’s icy, slow down. If there’s construction near the roads, slow down and obey the signs,” said Bala.

Another upcoming project that ITD is working on this Summer is the highway 50 area. He says there may be lane closures, and to watch for them you approach them.
