IFPD arrests man in connection to gas station robbery

Idaho Falls police say they have a suspect in custody for the armed robbery that happened at a gas station Saturday morning.

Police arrested 36-year-old Jeremy K. Hoyle for robbery in connection to Saturday morning’s robbery of the Phillips 66 gas station at 17th and Rollandet.

According to police, the store clerk told officers Hoyle came into the store, picked up a soda and candy and brought it to the counter. As the clerk rang up the items, he pulled a knife and demanded the money from the cash register. The store clerk complied. Police said the Hoyle took the money, left the store and fled south on Rollandet.

The clerk was the only person in the store at the time of the robbery.

An attempted robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank ATM, located at 1798 S. 25th East, Saturday remains under investigation. Police say woman reported being confronted at the ATM by an unknown suspect. The unknown suspect, who was believed to be holding a knife, demanded money from the woman. The woman was able to get away from the suspect and call police.
