Man arrested for drug trafficking during investigation of baby’s death

While investigating the death of a seven-month-old baby, Idaho Falls Police arrested 55-year-old Dane R. Durrant for manufacturing a controlled substance and trafficking Marijuana on Sunday.

Durrant of Idaho Falls was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.

According to reports, while investigating the baby’s death at a mobile home in the 2200 block of North Yellowstone, officers located more than a pound of Marijuana and several forms of edible Marijuana extracts during a search of a residence. The edibles included cookies, brownies, and a type of caramel. The residence belonged to Durrant, who is not related to the baby.

At this time, IFPD does not believe there is any connection between the baby’s death and the Marijuana found at the residence. The investigation is still in progress.
