Idaho Falls paramedic mistaken for NFL player

Being mistaken for a professional athlete may not happen that often, but it did happen to one of our own firefighters in Idaho Falls.

If you watched the NFL Draft last Saturday, the name Connor Cook may sound pretty familiar.

This Idaho Falls man whose caught in the mix-up is not the rookie football player who was just signed to an NFL team.

Connor Cook is an Idaho Falls Fire Department paramedic and he was mistaken for an Oakland Raiders’ draft pick with the same name.

The confusion happened when the Raiders congratulated the paramedic in a tweet, mistaking him for the football player.

“My family has made jokes about it before like, ‘Oh look there you are playing for Michigan State’ and we would all laugh and ha-ha. And then suddenly it’s kind of this full circle on us. Now I was mistaken for him on social media and so everyone’s getting a big kick out it, family and the guys at work,” said firefighter-paramedic Connor Cook.

Connor found this whole social media mix-up very funny but confusing at the same time. He was a hockey and rugby player, but he did play football in a little league when he was a kid.
