Rexburg Police officer cleared of wrongdoing in rollover accident

Idaho State Police have finished their investigation of an officer involved that occurred February 27, 2015.

Officer Dale Wright had just turned around to respond to a fire call and was crossing over Yellowstone Highway when another vehicle driving northbound on the highway hit the officer’s vehicle. The investigation concluded that Officer Wright had entered the intersection during a red light but had emergency lights operating.

Both Officer Wright and the other driver, Kerrey Johnson, of Idaho Falls, receivedminor injuries. Both vehicles were totaled in the accident.

After reviewing the case the Madison County prosecutor says he will not press charges and the officer has been cleared of any wrongdoing.
