Pocatello floral shop busy with more than one occasion Saturday

If you’re still wondering what to get for Mother’s Day Sunday, you better hurry!
Christine’s floral shop in pocatello was very busy Saturday. And that’s because florists there were getting floral arrangements and other items ready for more than one occasion.

“Yes, it has been a very busy weekend. We have seen a lot of floral purchases. It’s also prom weekend and ISU graduation. So, we’ve had balloons and chocolates and flowers all flying out the door,” said Charity Johnson, volunteer and Christine’s Floral.

Johnson says she works mainly on holidays with her sister Amy. But on this holiday weekend, she helped the girls out until 3a.m. Saturday morning, for one the busiest times of the year.

“I do a little bit of everything. So, I help with deliveries, helping ring people up, putting flowers together, doing balloons and bouquets, prepping. Just everyone here is just hands on deck, pitches in and does everything. We just have a lot of fresh arrangements, we have the Florence Chocolates that are handmade from Rexburg. A lot of sons and husbands that are giving that to their Moms and wives for Mother’s Day – very popular.”

She says unlike Valentine’s Day where red roses are in demand, for mother’s day, a lot of pinks and purples will do just fine.

According to Statisticbrain.com, last year, almost $2 billion was spent on flowers alone for Mother’s day.
