Meet the candidates forum

With primary elections a week away, the Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce hosted its first “Meet the Candidates” forum Tuesday.

The forum was structured like a Q&A for the all-Republican slate. Potential commissioners, senators and representatives had one minute to answer questions.

The Chamber of Commerce hoped this event would get more people involved in local elections.

“It’s important for us to just make sure we provide opportunities for individuals to get the information they need, especially when it comes to business-related issues. So for an opportunity like this today, it’s a chance for people to maybe hear from a candidate they’ve not yet heard from and get some of that face-to-face interaction,” Michaelle Holt, Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce CEO.

Primary elections will be held May 17.
