New exhibit coming to Museum of Idaho this summer

The Museum of Idaho is saying goodbye to the “Hatching the Past” exhibit and welcoming “America’s Revolution: Rebels with a Cause” exhibit.

The current exhibit was first showcased at the beginning of January and will have its final day this Saturday, May 7.

It attracted 31,000 visitors and offered an array of authentic dinosaur eggs and nests, all artifacts from private collectors.

The Museum of Idaho’s director of education Chloe Doucette said the current exhibit was a success. “A lot of families and kids and their schools came through, and it seems like we’ve had a really great response. People have really enjoyed it.”

Once the dinosaurs have been cleared out the museum will welcome the nations founding fathers.

“The revolutionary war and all of the artifacts, it’s anin-house design exhibit which means all the artifacts are coming from locals,”Doucette said.

Visitors will be able to get in touch with the patriotism that fueled the birth of our great nation through this exhibit.

“A couple strands of George Washington’s hair. Things of that nature,” Doucette said.

The new exhibit will be open to the public to view by June 3 and will end Nov. 26
