Fatal accident blocks traffic on Yellowstone Avenue in Chubbuck

Update 5/13/2016 9:00 pm: The Idaho State Police have released the name of the man killed in an accident on Yellowstone Avenue earlier today.

67-year-old Randy Cherry, of Chubbuck, was driving 2001 Dodge Pickup south on Yellowstone Avenuewhen his vehicle left the right side of the roadway. The truck rolled, struck a power pole, and came to rest off the right shoulder on its top.

Cherry was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. He was not wearing a seatbelt. The roadway was blocked for several hours as crews cleared power lines from the crash.

Idaho State Police say the vehicle involved was driving south on Yellowstone when they swerved off the road, hitting a telephone pole and flipping the vehicle. The driver was the only person inside the vehicle. That driver, a male, was killed in the accident.
