New York man charged after attempting to run from police

Pocatello Police tased a suspect after he squared off to fight officers Friday.

Police were called to the AT and T store on Hurley Drive shortly after 5 p.m. to investigate a suspected fraud.

According to police, Eric Mouson, 23, of New York City was leaving the store as they arrived. Mouson refused to stop and ran away from the officer. He got into a vehicle and refused to comply with an officer’s order to show his hands. Mouson then left the vehicle and ran again.

The man jumped a six foot high cement wall, but was captured by other officers on the other side. Mouson was tased when he squared off to fight an officer.

According to reports, Mouson provided a false name and was in possession of a financial transaction card which did not belong to him.

He was charged with fraud and two counts of resisting and obstructing an officer.
