Spring brings back championship relay races to Fort Hall

On your marks, get set, go!Saturday afternoon was one of the many championship relay horse races in Fort Hall.

The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes along with other tribes were there, set apart on teams for the race.

These races are a part of the Tribe’s tradition, and has been going on for many years.
Saturday, one of the winners talks about how hard work has finally paid off by winning the race.

“This was the first race for me, it felt pretty good. Go from here with the practice on what we did wrong today. I was just nervous to have our first race of the season, you know,” said Frankie Gould, Relay Race Winner.

The National Championship will be held at the Eastern Idaho State Fair in September.
