Blackfoot High School grads visit elementary schools

Blackfoot High School seniors gave many elementary schools kids a treat by visiting their schools Tuesday.

One of their stops was Fort Hall Elementary School, to show the kids what they can achieve.

“To show kids that we made it! And we want them to have higher expectations of graduating, want them to get through school,” said Blackfoot High senior Trenton Truman.

Cheers and high-fives lined the walls of Fort Hall, with students very eager to see how far the big kids have come.

“They’re all amped up about it!” said Blackfoot High senior Zach Rodriguez.

The high school students were reminded of times when they looked up to someone older.

“I looked up to them like saying that I can do it, I can make it that far. It’ll take a long time but it was worth it,” said Blackfoot High senior Sierra Mecham.

It was a surreal feeling for these graduating seniors to be on the other end.

“It feels amazing. I mean to feel that I’ve got this far and all that, I can’t describe it in words. Just by my smile I think it describes it all. I’m really excited,” said Truman.

Many high schools around the area do this senior graduating victory tour to their local elementary schools to inspire young students.

Blackfoot High School’s graduation ceremony will be held June 3 at 7 p.m.
