Man arrested for aggravated assault after forcing his way into home

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office have arrested Alexander M. Armstrong for aggravated assault after he forced his way into a home.

On Saturday, June 4, sheriff’s deputies responded to a home on Preston Dr. for a report of a disturbance. When they arrived witnesses told the deputies that Armstong had arrived at the home, broke through the garage door, and confronted the people inside with a knife.

Armstrong had apparently been in a relationship with one of the people living in the home and had been told not to come to the residence. Witnesses told deputies that Armstong attacked a 30-year-old male that was standing between him and the others in the home. Another person in the home called 911 and Armstrong left in his vehicle striking another vehicle in the driveway in the process. Deputies were unable to locate or make contact with Armstrong at that time.

On Sunday, June 5, deputies made contact with Armstrong and observed damage to his vehicle matching damage to a vehicle at the scene the day before. As Deputies attempted to place Armstrong under arrest he resisted and had to be restrained while being secured in handcuffs.

Armstrong was transported to the Bonneville County Jail and booked for felony aggravated assault and misdemeanors for resisting and obstructing an officer, malicious injury to property, unlawful entry, and leaving the scene of an accident.
