Pocatello man arrested twice over the weekend

A Pocatello man was arrested twice for separate incidents over the weekend.

Pocatello Police were called to a gas station at 3208 Pole Line Road at around 5 a.m. Saturday. The station clerk said a man had driven onto the lot, then passed out in a running vehicle. Police found Steven Dietz Pongah, 22, at the scene. He was arrested for driving without priveleges and driving under the influence.

Pongah was released from jail later that day.

At around 8 a.m. Sunday, police were called to a Pocatello home to investigate a burglary that occurred overnight Saturday, while one of the victims slept on a couch. People living in the home discovered the burglary Sunday morning.

Among the items taken was a cell phone. Police traced that cell phone to 2207 Clinton. Police found Pongah at that residence, along with several items reported stolen in the burglary.

Pongah was arrested on charges of burglary at around 9 a.m. Sunday and re-booked into the Bannock County Jail.
