Man arrested for grand theft, possession of meth

Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man for grand theft and drug possession after a report of a suspicious male going through items in a pickup truck.

On June 25th, deputies responded to a report of a suspicious looking man going through items in a pickup truck at Dad’s Truck Stop on Yellowstone Highway and 25th East. When deputies arrived, they made contact with 50-year-old Darren L. Mullins of Idaho Falls, and discovered he was in possession of multiple stolen items. Among those items were tools, checkbook, and other personal items that had been reported stolen. During an inventory of Mullins’ vehicle deputies located a container with approximately 12 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Mullins was placed under arrest and booked into the Bonneville County Jail for 3 felonies: grand theft, possession of stolen property, and possession of a controlled substance.
