Recycling truck fire doused by firefighters

Update: 1:50 p.m.

Ammon Firefighters said the fire started at around 12:05 p.m. in the cabin of the truck, but don’t know for certain what the exact cause may have been.

The truck was located on Clearfield Lane, near Autumnwood Drive in Ammon.

People nearby said they heard explosions. Firemen said that was caused by bursting tires on the truck.

Ammon Fire Department responded to fire in the area of 49th South after a recycling truck started on fire.

Firefighters were able to douse the fire. No one was hurt and the fire didn’t spread beyond the truck itself.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated. We’ll continue to update this story as we get more details.
