4-year-old taken to hospital after falling from 2nd story window

A 4-year-old child fell out of the second story window of a Rexburg apartment complex at 7:39 a.m. Thursday.

According to Captain Randy Lewis of the Rexburg Police, a construction worker spotted the boy after he fell and notified the family. Lewis says the boy was playing on a bed that was near a window when he leaned against a window screen that came loose. The boy fell about 20 feet.

Madison Fire Department Chief Troyce Miskin said the child was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in stable condition. He was consciouswhen they arrived at the complex.

The incident is still under investigation. This story will be updated as more information is released.
