Idaho State Police are making progress on new building

Good progress has been made on the new Idaho State Police building in Pocatello. Currently, construction crews are working on the foundation and underground work for the building. The site supervisor said once the foundation is completed, the next step is to work on the plumbing and tying in underground utilities. Crews expect to start on that in the next few weeks.

Once the plumbing is finished, crews will start to put up the building. The state police said crews have been hard at work since the groundbreaking in May and they’ve come a long way already.

“Since May they’ve been working on the building seems like on a daily basis, early in the morning before I get here until when I leave so they’ve been staying really busy with the progress that they’ve made so far,” said Lt. Fritz Zweigart.

The site supervisor said he expects to be able to start framing and enclosing the building within the next couple of months. He said there have been no delays so far and the building is on track to be completed by May 2017.
