Crawford sentenced to 35 years for kidnapping and mayhem charges

After several months of continuances Devin Crawford has been sentenced to 35 years in prison.

Out of the 35 years, he will serve 12 years fixed and 23 years indeterminate.

Crawford was ordered by the judge to pay a $1,000 fine, county costs of $500 and restitution of $43,378.97.

Crawford was originally charged with kidnapping and aggravated assault in August 2015. Crawford along with 4 others kidnapped Brandon Bykonen.

Judge Pickett said drugs are not a victimless crime. “Alcohol, marijuana, and meth is a pretty strong cocktail,” said Pickett.

Crawford is due back in court on July 25 for additional charges he accumulated while he was in the Bonneville Jail.

On February 15 he was charged with threatening and intimidating a witness and possessing contraband into the correctional facility.
