Pocatello woman arrested after stabbing a man

A Pocatello man was hospitalized early Friday morning after a woman stabbed him.

Pocatello Police arrested Wynette Lynann Ballard, 38, on charges of aggravated battery.

According to reports, the victim, a 54-year-old man, met Ballard at a convenience store. They then sat down to drink outside a residence. The man said the woman approached him. He told police he was expecting a hug, but instead, she stabbed him six times.

Police said the man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The owner of the residence came home and reported the incident.

Ballard was arrested nearby in the one thousand block of S. 5th Avenue at around 2:15 a.m. Friday.
