Reminder of burn ban in Fort Hall

The Fort Hall Fire Department issued a burn ban just last week.

And especially since this summer is a lot dryer than last year, they want to remind everyone to not use any left over fireworks or burn fires of any kind. This is just for cautionary measures until the ban is lifted on October 1, when wild fire season ends.Fort Fall Fire Chief Brian Briggs says there’s been a lot more fires this year in Fort Hall than last year.

“The fires that we’ve seen in the last few weeks, instead of progressing slowly like they do this time of year, they’re really progressing fast and hot because of the fuel types on the ground. So, we’re going to be dry we’ll have a lot of lightening, seems to be the fire season for this area,” said Briggs.

The burn ban is exceptional to religious or cultural events within the fort hall reservation. The chief just says to let him know of those events in advance.
