Car crash kills one, sparks small fire

A single vehicle crash on Green Road in McCammon killed one woman Monday night and the crash started a small fire.

The Bannock County Sheriff’s office says 55-year-old Debbie Hainline was driving down the road at about 10:30 p.m. when she veered of the side of the road and down a steep embankment. Hainline was ejected from the car during the crash.

The car caught fire and spread to the nearby brush. The fire was doused quickly by firefighters before it spread very far. The sheriff’s office didn’t have an exact number for the amount of acres burned but no structures were ever threatened by the fire.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated by the Idaho State Police.
