Two arrested during traffic stop for drug trafficking

Idaho Falls Police arrested two men for drug offenses, including drug trafficking, during a traffic stop late Friday night.

31-year-old Joseph M. Gallegos was arrested for trafficking Methamphetamine, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of Marijuana. 31-year-old Eduardo Sandoval, Jr., was also arrested on charges of trafficking Methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of Marijuana.

According to the police report, officers stopped a black Honda Accord, driven by Sandoval, near Woodruff and Garfield around 11:50 p.m. During the stop, officers observed the smell of Marijuana.

During their investigation, police found Sandoval and Gallegos, the vehicle passenger, in possession of Methamphetamine, Marijuana, more than $1,200 in cash and two small pistols. There was also drug paraphernalia found in their possession consistent with selling drugs.

Gallegos was also found in possession of Hydrocodone and Alprazolam.
