Local democrats talk keeping Hillary in the lead

Local Idahoans are hopeful that Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders can help Hillary
Clinton stay on top of the general election.

Many of our local democratic leaders are in Philidelphia Tuesday for Day 2 of the Democratic National Convention (DNC). One of them, is Bannock County Democratic Chairman Bert Marley, a Sanders supporter. And back in Pocatello is, Carolyn Meline, who is a Clinton supporter.

Both of them talked Tuesday about their thoughts so far on the DNC and how much pull Sanders can have to keep Clinton ahead.

“Well, that’s a good question and that’s a little hard to predict. And I think that’s going to be a while before we know how that’s going to play out, said Marley.

“I think in lots of ways, they’re equal. They have been ever since they served together in congress,” said Meline.

According to Sunday’s edition of the Idaho Politics Weekly, currently in Idaho, GOP Nominee and Presidential Candidate Donald Trump is still leading Clinton. After the DNC is completed, the race to the White House will officially begin.
