Grandview Drive widening project begins August 1st

A reconstruction and widening project on Grandview Drive will begin on August 1st. The project stretches from Skyline Drive to Saturn Avenue. The project work is expected to last until November 2016.

The speed limit will be reduced to 25 MPH, and lane closures will be implemented around the work zone throughout construction.

This federally-funded project will provide roadway improvements including the reconstruction of the roadway, widening of Grandview Drive to five lanes, a 12ft wide shared use pathway on the south side of the roadway, and a sidewalk on the north side of the roadway between Skyline Drive and Saturn Avenue.

Phased construction activities will consist of a storm drain infiltration system, soil retaining walls, street utilities and paving on the north side of the road. Traffic will then be shifted to accommodate work on the south side of the road.

During all construction activities, watch for equipment and workers, follow all traffic signs and flaggers, and reduce speeds to posted limits.
