Bonneville school district breaks ground on new high school

Bonneville school district 93 broke ground on it’s new high school Friday evening.

“Very exciting, very heartwarming. A lot of work, years and years of work and a lot of struggles but this is a beautiful time,” said Superintendent Dr. Chuck Shackett.

“It’s kind of the end of the beginning but the beginning of starting the construction,”board chairman Brian McBride said.

District leadership called this groundbreaking historical as it will be the fifth high school built in Bonneville county.

“Just enjoy the excitement. We’re looking at getting a camera that will actually video the work site so people can watch and see the progress,” said McBride.

It was bumpy road to get here today but everyone agrees it’s all about the students.

“Ithink they’re going to be so blessed to come to a school that’s gonna have all theamenitiesand opportunities to thrive as students and be prepared for the future,” Shackett said.

There isn’t a clear traffic plan. The city told the district will evaluate that when the school opens in 2018.
