Air quality returns to “good” in Pocatello & Chubbuck

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality has lifted an air quality caution issued Friday for Bannock, Bear Lake, Caribou, Franklin, Oneida and Power counties.

The department said it took the action because of lessening impacts caused by smoke from regional wildfires.

Open burning bans are still in effect in each county, except Oneida, for purposes of public safety.

The Department’s latest air quality report lists conditions as “good” in the Pocatello and Chubbuck area Monday. Although regional wildfires are elevating particulate levels over the area, general air quality is expected to stay in the upper range of the “good” category.
