Man and woman arrested for stealing pickup

Pocatello Police arrested a man and a woman at around 6:33 p.m. Tuesday for possession of a stolen vehicle.

Police said a 1996 Chevrolet truck was reported stolen from a parking lot at 716 Yellowstone. An officer spotted the vehicle a short time later at 6th and Lewis. Matthew Robert Chaffin, 24, and Ashley Marie Fulbright, 30, were in the truck.

As police tried to stop the pickup, Chaffin ran away from officers at 6th and Lewis. After a short foot chase, Chaffin was apprehended.

Fulbright stayed with the vehicle and was also taken into custody. Both were charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.

Chaffin was also charged with eluding an officer,and a previous warrant arrest.
