Man killed in rafting accident

UPDATE 8/31/2016 10:30 a.m.:

Bonneville County Sheriff Officer has released the name of the victim from Tuesday’s rafting accident as Alexander Razzolini, 28, of Jackson, WY.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A man was killed Tuesday when he tried to retrieve his raft that floated away.

Bryan Lovell of the Bonneville Co. Sheriff’s office said three men were on a gravel bar in the Snake River near Swan Valley. The gravel bar was two miles upstream from the falls at Fall Creek.

The men said their raft started to float away and one of them jumped into the river to get it.

Another boater found the raft and one of the two men.

A deputy found the victim downstream near a gravel bar above Spring Creek Boat Ramp. The man was unresponsive, they said. Deputies estimate the victim was in the water for approximately an hour.

The victim was not wearing a life jacket when he was discovered, Lovell said.

The names of the men have not been released.
