Idaho Falls man charged with excessive DUI

Ike Bowers, 41, of Idaho Falls was arrested at around midnight Wednesday after he was reported as an intoxicated driver.

Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the Stinker Station at 17th Street and 25th East. Officers spotted Bowers in a silver Mercury Cougar at the intersection of 25th East near 25th Street.

According to reports, the deputy saw the vehicle swerve in its lane. The driver refused to pull over and crashed into another car on 25th East, then continued back towards 17th Street. The deputy followed the car into the Men’s Warehouse parking lot where he was able to block the vehicle in.

The driver, identified as Bowers, was arrested and taken to the Bonneville County Jail. He was booked on several misdemeanor charges, including excessive DUI, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, eluding a police officer, open container of alcohol, and driving without privileges.
