Two arrested after traffic stop in Chubbuck

A Pocatello man and Fort Hall woman were arrested Tuesday night after Chubbuck police said they had to chase down the man.

Police stopped Laine Eldridge, 28, and Rainessa Dixey, 18, at 10:45 p.m. around North Yellowstone Avenue and Southside Way. Officers knew Eldridge had multiple warrants out for his arrest.

After he was stopped, Eldridge ran toward a nearby field, police said. One officer tried to use a Taser but wasn’t able to make good contact on Eldridge. Officers eventually caught up with him and arrested him.

Eldridge is in the Bannock County Jail, charged with misdemeanor injury to a child, felony eluding, two warrants for probation violations, a bench warrant for domestic battery, resisting and obstructing, battery on an officer and providing false information to an officer.

Dixey was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant from Bingham County.

No one was injured.
