Shelley man arrested for drug possession and other charges

A Shelley man was arrested by Idaho Falls Police on September 1st for multiple charges including felony possession of a controlled substance and driving with fictitious plates.

Police arrested 39-year-old Travis R. Best for felony possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop Thursday night.

Best, of Shelley, was also booked into the Bonneville County Jail for driving without privileges, a probation violation warrant and driving a vehicle with fictitious plates.

According to reports, officers stopped a 1991 Honda Civic, driven by Best, on Disney for an expired vehicle registration around 7:30 p.m. During the stop, the license plate was determined to be registered to another vehicle. Officers also found Best had a warrant and a suspended driver’s license.

While being placed under arrest, Best was found in possession of Hydrocodone without a prescription.
