Tie Canyon fire is 100 percent contained

The Tie Canyon fire was listed at 100 percent containment Tuesday morning. The fire area encompassed 1,031 acres.

Great Basin Team 5 transferred management of the fire to a smaller organization Tuesday morning.

180 fire fighters will be assigned to the fire, finishing the last remaining mop-up activities. Two miles of hose, pumps, and fittings remain for firefighters to use on hot spots.

Great Basin Team 5 has transferred management of the Tie Canyon fire to a smaller organization.

In Victor, the Incident Command Post will remain near Pioneer Park. A few yurts will remain in place to support the smaller organization. Starting Wednesday, the park and grass area will be open to the public; however, the gravel and ball fields will not be open due to the smaller organization and infrastructure in place.
