Man arrested after police pursuit on I-15

Bingham County deputies arrested Colton Merrill, 23, after a high speed pursuit at around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Sheriff Craig Rowland said Merrill failed to stop when a deputy turned his lights on to pull him over. Merrill drove north on Interstate 15 until he ran over spike strips laid down by Idaho State Police at milepost 110.

Merrill continued to drive for about a mile before crashing into a canal.

Merrill was taken into custody without incident. No one was injured.

Merrill was charged with felony eluding and driving without privileges.
