Grandview construction slows down I-15 traffic at Idaho Falls

Construction work on the I-15 exit ramp at Grandview Drive in Idaho Falls created some slow moving traffic at the Broadway Avenue exit Thursday.

The city of Idaho Falls and Idaho Transportation Department closed the southbound exit ramp Thursday until approximately September 28 for construction activity.

As part of the Grandview reconstruction project, the project includes installation of a storm drain infiltration system.

The federally funded project will provide a number of improvements including reconstruction of the road, widening of Grandview to five lanes, a 12-foot wide shared use pathway on the south side of the roadway, and a sidewalk on the north side between Skyline Drive and Saturn Avenue.

During construction, motorists traveling southbound on I-15 to Grandview will be detoured to the Broadway Avenue exit, west on Broadway to Skyline Drive, and then north on Skyline to Grandview Drive. All other ramps in the area will remain open.
