Tables turn on man and woman who claimed to have been robbed

Idaho Falls Police arrested a man and woman Wednesday afternoon after puncturing holes in their claim to have been robbed at gun point.

William J. Fowler, 19, and Charisse Scheer,22, both of Idaho Falls were arrested for attempted robbery and filing a false police report.

According to police, Fowler and Scheer contacted police at around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, claiming a 33-year-old man tried to rob them. They said they had been driving around town with the man Tuesday night. The couple claimed the man stole their phone, wallet and car.

During their investigation, police determined the couple lied about the events of the night before. They determined the couple actually attempted to rob the man and threatened him with a baseball bat.
