Firefighters extinguish mobile home fire

UPDATE: 9/9/16 11:45 a.m.

A vacant home at 2486 N. 25th East (Hitt Road) in Idaho Falls was heavily damaged by fire at around 9 p.m. Thursday.

The Idaho Falls Fire Department said the home was fully involved in fire when they arrived and was threatening another building directly to the north. Firefighters were able to save the exposed building.

Damage to the home was estimated at $20,000. There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Idaho Falls Firefighters worked to contain a Thursday night mobile home fire along Hitt Road.

The Fire broke out just after 9:00 p.m. in the 2400 block of North Hitt Road, between Iona and Lincoln Roads.

Firefighters quickly arrived at the fire, and contained the fire around 9:30 p.m.

There is no word on a cause and no reports of any injuries.

Bonneville County deputies closed Hitt road in both directions as fire crews worked to control the fire.
