Rexburg: 9/11 Heroes Challenge Urbanathalon
Where: Porter Park
When: Saturday, Sept. 10, 8 a.m.
Cost: $20/person ($15/person early registration)
The Madison Fire Department is hosting the first time Urbanathalon.
First responders were called in from all over the city to help at the World Trade Centers. Because of the chaos, these responders abandoned apparatus and ran from the tunnels to the towers just so they could help; others climbed stairs to rescue those who were trapped; and, after the towers came down, even more obstacles were put in the firefighters way. As you race through the urbanathalon you are, in a small way, honoring those that gave their all that day by overcoming obstacles placed between you and the finish line.
