Kind Week kicks off with ISU Homecoming Week

The Kind Community organization worked together with Idaho State University’s activities board to launch their weeks with a combined celebration.

Courtney Fisher, Kind Community’s president, said the organization approached ISU about a partnership when it realized Kind Week and ISU’s Homecoming Week would be the same this year.

ISU’s marching band and a combined middle school orchestra performed to start things off. Pocatello Mayor Brian Blad and Chubbuck Mayor Kevin England also issued a joint proclamation for Kind Week for their cities and Bannock County.

Fisher said ISU’s theme, Strength in Stripes, ties in nicely with Kind Week.

“Kind Community is all about really embracing where we live and who we live here with,” Fisher said. “To be able to do that together with ISU is just a really amazing accomplishment for us.”

Each school in Pocatello/Chubbuck District 25, as well as private and charter schools in the area, will be holding its own Kind Week.
