Suspect charged in gun shop burglary

Idaho Falls Police formally arrested Travis A. Castro,30, on four felony warrants for burglary and grand theft at the Bonneville County Jail Monday night. Castro was a prime suspect in connection with a burglary at Guns and Gear at 1315 S. Utah Avenue on August 16.

Castro was later captured after a police pursuit that began in St. Anthony and continued through downtown Rexburg. The pursuit ended with a crash on Rexburg’s Main Street August 18.

According to police, 16 guns were stolen from Guns and Gear. Four of those guns were in Castro’s possession at the time of his capture in Rexburg.

Castro was also driving a stolen truck, which he used during the burglary.
