Big donation from local Idaho hospital

Bingham Memorial Hospital donated $20,000 check to help fund a 7-foot tall bronze statue in the center of Patriot Field, the new veteran’s memorial park located across the street from the Bingham County Courthouse downtown Blackfoot.

The one-of-a-kind statue will be sculpted by Ben Hammond, an Idaho native, and will feature a military officer handing a folded American flag to two children.

CEO of Bingham Memorial Hospital Jeff Daniels said he hopes the donation will get the ball rolling on the project and will inspire other businesses to contribute money towards the building of the statue.

The project still needs $80,000 to have the statue built. Contributions can be made to The Bingham Economic Development Corp.

“We want local businesses and individuals to step up and all make a contribution to help get this project completed sooner than later,” Daniels said.
